I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have two things to admit: 1. As a child, My Little Pony was my favorite... well everything. Toy, tv show, bedding, etc. So, having a daughter and getting to watch the reboot with her has been the bees knees. I love playing 'ponies' with her, watching the new episodes on Saturday morning, and even going to see the movie this summer. 2. I saw this on someone's Stacking the Shelves last week and I knew I had to download it on Netgalley. Previously, I didn't realize this was something that existed.
So, when my daughter and I sat down to read this together, we were both excited. I like comic books and even though she is five, my daughter was able to keep up with the style of the book. We both loved the consistency with the show, while being a new plot line we hadn't watched before. And of course, my voicing of the ponies was hilarious.
I gave this five stars, because A) We both enjoyed the story and were able to sit down and finish it relatively quickly B) my five year old was able to stay engaged (her attention span is fickle)and C) the story was new and exciting.
Now that we know we like them, we will definitely be keeping up with the series.
